At some point most web developers will be in the position of having to either provide hosting for their clients’ websites, or they will need to know which web hosts to to recommend to their clients. This web hosting tutorial highlights five of the most reliable, economical, and dependable web hosts out there who cater to web developers, web designers, and content marketers.

On the surface, this seems to be an easy order – just write down the most popular web hosting services out there and be done with it. Looking more closely, it is more of a task than you might think. Which services do they support, how much bandwidth do the web hosting providers provide by default, how much space do they provide, how many FTP accounts do they provide? What does the web hosting dashboard and panel look like? We will break down all of these in our list of best web hosting accounts for web developers.

What Are the Best Hosts According to Developers?

The hardest part of answering this question is finding a reliable, unbiased source. Look on Google and you will have to wade through web hosting companies trying to sell their own wares. That being said, perhaps one of the best resources for developers is their own domain registrar’s website. Most registrars provide hosting services, and some are very well known, such as GoDaddy and Network Solutions. Others provide the service, but are not as well known, and their reputation is also unknown. Just be aware that you do not have to host your website with the same company that you registered your domain with. There are literally tens of thousands of web hosts available. The hard part is filtering the list down to those which are worth your hard-earned money.

Here is a list of our top five web hosts, with information about the packages that each provides. It is not a definitive list, they are simply, in my own humble opinion, some of the best, most popular web hosting companies out there.

Each of these web hosting companies are respected in the industry, and can provide small and medium businesses with the appropriate means to host successful websites for a very small investment. They also offer competitive pricing for packages for larger businesses, and often have even cheaper pricing plans for individuals than those listed below.
