Advanced Font Controls Soon Coming to Web Developers

The web was never intended to be a publication medium, and as such, it performs poorly compared to layout software such as Adobe's InDesign. Things are changing though, and web developers are beginning to use CSS and the Web Open Font Format to facilitate more advanced font controls.

The Web Open Font Format allows web developers to specify downloadable fonts, and use online font repositories such as TypeKit to create a more professional, well designed look to their websites.

Mozilla developer John Daggett recently posted in a blog that Mozilla is currently working on new CSS features which would permit higher-end font controls.
