Yahoo’s decision to open source Mojito is most likely tied to their admission that, aside from all the progress made on the platform, they still have yet to implement all of the features that they had originally set out to accomplish. And as such, they have decided to release Mojito under the standard BSD license. From desktops to mobile devices, Yahoo wants a standard for consistent web page load times and a framework that can auto detect how the page is rendered, ie Server-side or on the Client and all this based on the type of the device.
