SEO platform vendor BridghtEdge has released a new report that finds that 57 percent of US searches come from smartphones or tablets. Younger users and people conducting certain categories of searches (such as restaurants) are even more likely to be using mobile devices.
The report added, “The same query on the same search engine generated different rank in mobile and desktop 79 percent of the time.” It recommended that developers optimize their websites separately for both desktop and mobile traffic.
