A new study conducting by performance monitoring vendor Apica and 3Gem adds more weight to the idea that developers should design their websites to load quickly. The findings included the following:
- 77 percent of users expect websites to load faster today than they did three years ago.
- 40 percent of respondents won’t wait more than 10 seconds for a page to load.
- 1 in 9 respondents won’t wait five seconds for a page to load.
- 40 percent of respondents would tell friends about poor website performance, and other 45 percent said they might do so.
