Report: 90 Percent of Web Applications Are Vulnerable

Cenzic, a web application security solution provider, this week released a report which focuses on the most prominent web application vulnerabilities for the last half of 2009. The report found that commonly used apps are still at risk, and SQL injections and XSS attacks being the most frequently exploited.

Adobe applications, including Flash, ColdFusion and Reader, were at the top of the hacked application list, while Mozilla Firefox had more vulnerabilities than any other web browser (at 44 percent). Mozilla conversely also had the most fixes available for its software, with only 12 percent of those issues remaining after the patches were applied.

The report showed continued growth of web application-based attacks, with such attacks making up about 82 percent of all web-based attacks.
