Domain name servers OpenSRS and domain management service Hover have experienced “network connectivity issues” leading to downtime for hundreds of thousands of websites. Both companies are owned by Tucows, and Hover services depend on OpenSRS capabilities. Approximately, 690,000 websites use OpenSRS’s services.
The outages appear to be slowly clearing up, but as of this time, DNS and email services are still experiencing a partial service disruption. Many domain owners have taken to Twitter to complain about the downtime.
