Project Native Client is a go! Google’s goal is to allow browsers to download compiled software from Web pages as a high-speed alternative to JavaScript-based programs which rule the web today. This speed boost comes from the Native Client programs executing directly on the computing device’s hardware and for most desktops, that’s a x86 based processor but Google has a solution in the works called PNaCl for the ARM based processors found on most tablets and smartphones today.
