Mozilla has released Firefox 52, and the updated version of the browser is noteworthy for two very different reasons. It is both the first version of Firefox to support WebAssembly and the last that will support Windows XP.
WebAssembly is a new industry standard bytecode intended to speed up downloads and Web page loading. It is expected to be included in the other major browsers before long.
Windows XP, of course, is an aging Microsoft operating system that Microsoft itself no longer supports.
