Internet Explorer 9 Platform Preview 2 Released for Developer Testing

May 6, 2010

Microsoft first showcased Internet Explorer 9 in March at the MIX10 web developer conference, showing off support for HTML 5, CSS3, and SVG markup. The second version of IE9 preview is available today for web developers to download, install and test out.

Developers who would like to test out the basic features of IE9 can download the installer at ietestdrive.com. The interface isn’t complete, and the security features aren’t functional, but over a million people have already downloaded the software to give it a test drive.

This week’s release improves on speed and JavaScript performance, and includes a few more tests and site samples.
