After waiting for what seemed like an eternity, Google finally launched the initial Google+ API release, and distributed emails about the release to developers who had previously signed up. This initial API is focused on public data, and enables developers to access information that has been publicly shared by Google+ members.
Google also announced a new Google+ developers site, which will provide developers with access to Google+ policies, terms, discussions, documentation and development tools for the Google+ platform. Google posted a blog announcing the release, which developers have been waiting for since the initial pre-launch of Google+ earlier this year.
