Yahoo has once again entered the web development arena with the announcement that it is releasing Cocktails, a set of web development frameworks that are designed to make the creation and deployment of web applications an easier process.

As one would traditionally picture upon hearing the words "cocktails," the Yahoo Cocktails framework is comprised of a mixture of technologies including HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript and Node.js. Thus far Yahoo has made two Cocktails available to developers, and they are called Yahoo Mojito and Yahoo Manhattan.

Yahoo platform architect Bruno Fernandez-Ruiz discussed the announcement, stating that "With Mojito, developers will no longer have to write different code for the server backend and browser frontend." Using the frameworks, developers can create web apps which can work via a cloud server if the user's browser has prevented JavaScript from working.
