HTML5 won't be an official standard for some time, but software and web developers are already working with the technology according to the results the Global Development Survey from Evans Data. After surveying over 1200 developers, the results showed that 43% of North American developers are using the technology.
The CEO of Evans Data, Janel Garvin, discussed the survey, stating that "There isn't any question about the adoption of HTML5, it's already the de facto standard. There is especial strength in HTML5 for mobile and cross-platform mobile apps, which is the direction the industry is moving for client devices, and that has made it extremely attractive to developers everywhere in the world. We see the most strength in Asia, a region that is generally quick to adopt new technologies."
