Joomla! 1.6 Released with Enterprise 2.0 Features

The latest release of Joomla!, 1.6, has been released with week with additional enterprise collaboration features. This release focuses on security, permissions and flexibility.


Ryan Ozimek, president of the non-profit organization providing financial support for Joomla!, stated that the underlying framework of the content management system is changing, with the goal of making it more useful for corporate collaboration.


Speaking about the release, Ozimek stated that “If you’re a large company you can get a Web site running with 1.6, but also do other services for the IT team and anything else you want to publish, with the same framework.”
