For Those About To Code: Adobe’s Edge Brings HTML5 To The Masses

Jun 25, 2011

Many would-be developers are excited by the prospects of what HTML5 brings to the table, but are a bit intimidated by the idea of actually having to code HTML5. Adobe’s new Edge tool gives developers a graphical user interface (GUI) that automates many of the programming tasks that would otherwise be daunting to a new developer.

Adobe Edge allows non-programmers to work with HTML5 and CSS, providing them with a drag-and-drop interface that allows them to drag images and SVG elements to a canvas which is connected to an animation timeline. Animations are created by dragging the dropped elements around, or changing element properties manually. Animation actions can be manipulated by the designer by copying and pasting them as they are needed.
