Your iPad Can Also Be Your Web Server

Jun 8, 2010

Many apps have been announced since the release of the iPad, and Japanese software development shop FreeBit is hoping to draw developer interest with the release of its ServersMan HD, a new application designed to make the iPad act like a web server.

Using FreeBit’s ServersMan HD developers enable iPad users to download, upload and view documents and files. While there won’t be any major websites depending on the app, it showcases the abilities of cloud computing for tablets and mobile devices.

Once iPad and iPhone users are released from the AT&T network, they will likely continue to use more data and bandwidth, something that was at the forefront of AT&T’s decision to eliminate unlimited data plans.
