This week Tendril announced a new website devoted to helping developers create the next smart grid “killer app” to accelerate the growth and demand for smart grid applications. Called the Tendril Connect Application Developer website, Tendril designed the site to enable developers to build energy management applications.
Smart grid apps are able to work along with smart meters, connected home appliances and smartphones, which themselves are connected to back-office utility systems. The Segment Manager of Products and Services at Tendril, Eric Shiflet, discussed the site, stating that “The website is a primary mechanism to reach out to the developer community, giving them access to web services and powerful new tools. Tendril is a first-mover in bridging open APIs with collateral that a developer would be used to.”
