A poll conducted by research firm Ipsos and funded by Mozilla found that 76 percent of Americans say that they support net neutrality. And even though Republicans and Democrats seem to agree on little these days, support for net neutrality was strong within both parties: 81 percent of Democrats and 73 percent of Republicans expressed support for the idea.
Other findings included the following:
- 78 percent of Americans have little or no trust in the Trump Administration or Congress to protect the Internet.
- 54 percent of Americans do not trust ISPs to support net neutrality.
- 78 percent of Americans believe equal access to the Internet is a right.
The Federal Communications Commission (FCC) is currently accepting public comments on its efforts to overturn the net neutrality rules put into place during the Obama administration.
