Creating a mapping service or application for the web just got easier for developers. The Ovi Maps API enables developers to add interactive maps to websites using a bit of JavaScript and HTML.
The Ovi Maps website provides a glimpse of the functionality provided by the Ovi Maps API. Users are able to find a location and zoom in to see the state, city and even a street level view, including a satellite and terrain perspective.
An Ovi Maps API Reference is available, along with a Developer’s Guide and a demonstration page called the Maps API Playground. The Maps API Playground is an easy way to get a feel for what you can do with the API, and even provides you with some code that you can immediately test out.
