Mobile Web Development Just Got Easier With jQuery Mobile 1.0

jQuery has become widely used by web developers for have used it to provide advanced user interface functionality for web apps, and it made the development process easier for those who develop for multiple browsers. Now jQuery Mobile 1.0 has been officially released, providing prebuilt code for the creation of websites and packaged web apps, using HTML, JavaScript and CSS.

jQuery documentation details the goals of the jQuery team, and states that “We’ve been working hard at bringing jQuery support to all mobile browsers that are sufficiently capable and have at least a nominal amount of market share. In this way, we’re treating mobile Web browsers exactly how we treat desktop Web browsers.”

This release supports many mobile browsers, including web browsers found in iOS, Android, Windows Phone, and BlackBerry, Opera and Firefox.
