Many times, web developers are responsible for creating new sites, and more often, upgrading current sites with new features and functionality using a new CMS. Follow the Illinois Humanities Council as they migrate from an existing CMS to the Drupal Open Source CMS.
The Council wanted to integrate their current client’s relationship management and expand its social networking with public discussion forums. In this whitepaper they explore the steps they took to migrate to Drupal, including why they selected it, the challenges they confronted during the migration, the additional benefits that Drupal provided, and the flexibility that their new CMS displayed when dealing with new requirements the site faced.
The Council found that Drupal provided increased functionality and greater organization while continuing to be cost-efficient and furthering their mission, which is to be an “online hub for critical thought and the exchange of ideas.”
