MeeClones, formerly known as YelpClone, just released version 2.1 of its MeeClones CMS which allows developers to create an interactive business review site, similar to the popular Yelp portal, whether they can code or not. MeeClones is scalable, modular and enables developers to modify their own themed, control site users, categories, posts, comments, lists and more using an Admin Control Panel.
Bryan Butvidas of MeeClones stated that he “just wanted to give the average non-coding joe or the advanced coder the ability to run their own business review site without having to pay $4000 in development.”
Butvidas designed MeeClones with a feature-rich platform in mind–to the point where this latest release has features that other review sites, including Yelp itself, doesn’t have. MeeClones includes the ability to add videos to business listings, along with classifieds, weather widgets, reviews and more. The script also includes social networking features such as events, forums, user profiles, commenting system, bookmarking, custom lists, a user mail system and the ability to invite friends.
Requirements to run MeeClones include having the Zend Optimizer on your server, but MeeClones does provide directions on how to get it set up on your server if you don’t already have it.
Butvidas is already thinking about the next release, with updated admin updates, the ability to modify the Google API, SMTP info, site name, captcha registration options, and more. He also envisions modules to allow a satellite view of the business, a blog module, multi-language support and Facebook connectivity.
The product sells for $350 for a one domain license, and custom themes and modules are also available for an additional fee.
