Adobe Ditches iPhone Development Tools

Recently Apple released a new draft of their iPhone developer program license which included restrictions that prohibit the development of iPhone apps using Flash CS5. As such, Adobe released its own statement announcing that it has abandoned further development of its developer tools which target the iPhone.

Adobe likely felt like any apps developed with Flash CS5 would be rejected by Apple, and their developers should be prepared for existing App Store content and applications which were created with Flash CS5 to be removed.

Adobe has been encouraged by the success of Android-based Droid and Nexus One, and is encouraging developers to port games and apps that target the iPhone to target other operating systems, such as the Android.
