93% of Internet Users Now Use Mobile Devices

The Next Web has updated its 2017 Global Digital Statshot for the second quarter, and some of its key findings include the following:

• More than 3.8 billion people around the world, or approximately 51 percent of the global population, use the internet.
• Social media adds 14 new users every second, for a total of 110 million new users over the past three months.
• 66 percent of the world’s population uses a mobile phone.
• 93 percent of all internet users go online via mobile devices.
