Intell will now have only one XDK going forward so Intel is letting those developers using the older, original Intel XDK know that they will need to undertake an "easy" migration.  Intel has been looking at helping HTML5 reach its promise of a true cross-platform, responsive, run-anywhere language and runtime as a solid platform based on standards. With this update, Intel is heading down the path of helping HTML5 apps be more responsive through performance improvements in the web-runtime, JavaScript profiling, and easier remote debugging, both issues have been notoriously mentioned by people from Facebook and LinkedIn.
