As with other changes to Google, the emergence of Google+ has caused search engine optimization experts to reevaluate and revamp their SEO techniques. Others have been actively working on ways to buy SEO fixes, such as paying companies to "+1" a website, but in the end, good old fashioned top notch content is the best investment you can make for your site's SEO performance.
Google came up with the +1 concept as a way to take on the very popular Facebook "like" button. Like the Facebook like button, by clicking the +1 next to a URL a user has searched for, they are letting their friends and associates know that the site is decent in their opinion. If a user sees that several of their friends have +1'ed a site, it will likely play a part in them trusting the site and the information it contents, or the products it sells.
By paying for a company to get +1's on their client's websites, both the company and the client are violating Google's +1 policies. Their rule states that "Publishers should not promote prizes, monies, or monetary equivalents in exchange for +1 Button clicks."
