Dynamic Mobile Website Platform Announced by Limelight

Nov 9, 2011

This week Limelight Networks announced the release of its Dynamic Site Platform for Mobile, which is designed to enable publishers to more easily create websites that are optimized for any mobile device, without regard for screen size. The platform uses standard internet technologies such as XML, HTML, CSS and JavaScript.

Dynamic Site Platform for Mobile uses device detection to determine the specific device that is being used to access the website, and then analyzes the data to properly display the content by formatting it for the device. By using the platform, publishers can create the content once, and deploy it across multiple devices.

The platform does more than resize the screen–it actually uses the device detection to automatically resize images for the device. Multiple domains and subdomains are not necessary, as the same URL will work for all devices.
