As Microsoft's IE6 Countdown site says, "Friends don’t let friends use Internet Explorer 6. And neither should acquaintances." The use of Internet Explorer 6 causes countless frustration to web developers, yet the web browser is still being used by 12% of all internet users worldwide.

After nearly 10 years on the market, IE6 has seen better days. With modern browsers such as Chrome, Safari, Opera, Firefox and (as of this week) IE9 available for download, for free no less, what valid excuse is there for not upgrading? On the other hand, when you upgrade you get enhanced security features, additional functionality and innovative content that is only available if you are using a current browser.
