Opera Software Announces Open Source Debugging Tools

This week Opera Software announced the beta release of Opera Dragonfly, its open source debugging tool suite for web developers and designers. Dragonfly is downloaded along with the Opera browser, and was designed to fulfill the entire debugging workflow.

Web developers eager to try out Dragonfly will be happy to find out that it supports the inspection of network access and downloaded resources, and provides developers with the ability to correct JavaScript issues and examine how CSS rules are applied to the Document Object Model (DOM).

Dragonfly has already been compared to Mozilla’s Firebug extension, and supports the latest web technologies including SVG and HTML5, including the APIs for web storage. The tool’s storage inspector enables developers to update and test cookies, as well as access the aforementioned storage API.
