WordPress Gets a Security Update and Bug Fix

WordPress, the open-source blogging platform received a new update on 9/11 to version 3.6.1 and is available now for download. The update was created to fix a trio of security vulnerabilities. The new WordPress 3.6.1 update is for those who self-host and will require users to update immediately to limit the risk of exploitation. WordPress is the most widely deployed platform for blogging with over 70 million sites running it globally and is also suitable for general content management systems and is available as both a hosted platform by way of the WordPress.com Website, as well as an open-source platform available from WordPress.org for users wanting to host their own platform.
