The Grid’s GSS is an open source library which leverages both JavaScript and HTML5 to solve UI layout issues and fix the fundamental problems inherent with CSS and particularly with the layout mechanisms of CSS. GSS takes common yet complicated or frustrating tasks such centering an element with CSS, which can be difficult forcing companies to hire a specialized persons to deal with the nuances of positioning and layout using CSS. GSS extends CSS with new layout languages and replaces the browser’s layout engine, using the Cassowary Constraint Solver algorithm that is used by Apple to compute native layout.
