This month’s TIOBE report indicated some very interesting statistics. JavaScript rolled in at the number 8 position, pushing the Python and Perl programming languages to position 9 and 10 respectively. What’s the reason? Simple… Gaming and Mobile platforms!
With HTML5 becoming the single most popular language, JavaScript is the key to the future web development. This fact in conjunction with the new Canvas element available using this language, JavaScript is now being used to implement 2D and 3D games and applications that once required the desktop environment to render.
