Flash Builder 4, ColdFusion Builder and Flash Platform Social Service

Mar 23, 2010

Today Adobe announced the release of Adobe Flash Builder 4 and ColdFusion Builder along with a new Flash social networking service. The social service integrates web applications with 14 leading social networks including MySpace, Facebook and Twitter.

Adobe describes the Flash and ColdFusion products as “next generation Flash Platform tooling for building multi-platform rich Internet applications (RIAs)”. Flash Builder 4 is an Eclipse-based development tool used to rapidly create multi-platform rich Internet applications (RIAs) using the Flex framework.

By using these tools, Adobe hopes to enable developers to use a single Flash Platform Services layer through multiple social networks, avoiding the work of integrating separate, ever-changing network service APIs for the various social networks.

Today’s announcement comes in advance of the release of the company’s Flash Player 10.1, which is expected to be released in the 2nd quarter of 2010.
