Market research firm Gartner has released a new report titled “Survey Analysis: The Mobile App Development Trends That Will Impact Your Enterprise in 2017.” It says that enterprises are encountering obstacles related to native mobile or hybrid development and that they are turning to mobile Web apps as an alternative.
“It’s encouraging to see significant growth in the number of mobile apps that are planned, but most of this growth is in mobile Web apps as opposed to native or hybrid mobile apps,” said analyst Adrian Leow. “This indicates that some enterprises may be frustrated with developing mobile apps and are instead refocusing on responsive websites to address their mobile needs.”
On average, enterprises currently have 2.6 mobile apps under development and plan to create 6.2 more over the next year. In addition, 68 percent are planning to increase their budgets for mobile app development.
