Bing Webmaster Tools Gets an SEO Update

Jun 8, 2011
1 minute read

Microsoft has been busy updating the SEO tools in Bing Webmaster Tools. New features include the ability to control how fast the Bing web crawler indexes a website at different times of the day. This allows the crawler to be slowed down during peak traffic hours to avoid stressing the web server that the site is hosted on.

Other updates include a rewrite of Index Explorer, and the ability to allow other users to access the site’s Bing Webmaster Tools account with varying degrees of access (i.e. some users could be allowed to only view the stats, while others could be allowed to actually make changes to the account).

New documentation and how-to documents are also available for developers.
