Web Development Utility: FireSSH, a JavaScript SSH Client Based on JavaScript

In recent months we have seen more web-based apps released that use the functionality of HTML5 and JavaScript to achieve some amazing effects. This week Mime Cuvalo announced his latest creation, FireSSH, a Firefox plugin that is a browser-based SSH client–and it’s written entirely in JavaScript.

Developers that are currently using Portable Firefox will be particularly interested in FireSSH, as it provides an SSH client right in the web browser–something that could come in very handy should they have a “development emergency” to deal with while they’re on the go.

The tool is still in development, but it is a great example of what can be done with JavaScript, and another potential tool in the web developer’s toolbox.
