vBulletin announces the release of vBulletin 4.0 Gold

Dec 23, 2009

The vBulletin team recently announced the availability of vBulletin 4.0 Gold. This release includes the upgraded vBulletin 4.0 Forums and their all-new vBulletin 4.0 Publishing Suite. This new Content Management System was designed to enable your community members to create content and allows you to cross-publish between your sites’ forums, blogs and site articles.

vBulletin Solutions has been working on their new 4.0 Publishing Suite for a long time now, and as of this week, they are officially supporting the Publishing Suite and vBulletin 4.0 Discussion forum software with both ticket support and phone support.

Unlike their traditional discussion forum software, the new 4.0 Publishing Suite includes many social networking features that users have come to expect on Social Networking sites such as MySpace and Facebook, including options including the expected Discussion Forum, Photo Albums, Groups, a Calendar, Events Management, Polls, Blogs as well as an Article-based CMS Publishing system which enables administrators to select specific content to be cross-published between your sites’ forums, blogs and site articles.

Using a single-user sign on system which only requires members to sign in once to use all the features of this community tool, developers are able to create and use a matching theme across all sections of the site, including the articles, blogs, forums and main page. Also integrated into this release are much-requested SEO-friendly URLs, custom META tag keyword and description tags, an automatic Google XML-based sitemap module, removal of duplicate content links and more.

Responding to many requests from users and developers, vBulletin has also included features such as content syndication in RSS, Atom and XML format, private messaging, and auto-refreshing buddy list, custom avatars, and a new proprietary template engine.

Current vBulletin clients can purchase the new release at a discount, while new clients can purchased this new release for $285 for the complete Publishing Suite which includes the 4.0 Forum Classic.
