This week Telex, a cloud contact center solutions provider, announced the release of its HTML5-based Call Center Agent software for Mac OS Contact Centers. The software makes use of HTML5’s Websocket component which provides a bi-directional, full-duplex communication channel using a single TCP socket.

The Chief Architect at Telax, Vladimir Pereira, discussed the release, stating that “We’re pleased that Mac infrastructures are growing so strongly in business environments. It allows us to develop contact center tools that have capabilities beyond what they’ve traditionally had. The adoption of Websocket by most major browsers is a huge step towards scalable real-time web applications. Our ultimate goal is to provide reliable and scalable solutions that are both easy to use and easy to deploy. This one is as easy as pointing a Mac browser to a url.”

Previously, real-time unified communication software had to be deployed as a local client, but with HTML5, a non-proprietary, browser-based, high quality user experience was possible, so Telex was able to take the software to the next level.
