Sitecore CMS 6.3 To Support Cloud via Amazon, Rackspace and Azure

Jul 16, 2010

Sitecore this week announced that its content management system, CMS 6.3, will support cloud services. Sitecore’s cloud providers include Amazon, Rackspace and Microsoft Azure.

Enthusiasm was high regarding support for Azure, which Microsoft just announced the latest release of at the Microsoft Worldwide Partner Conference in Washington, D.C.. Azure provides database capabilities that are more advanced than other providers, and offers two North American, two European and two Asia Pacific hosts for its services.

Cloud computing can be advantageous for websites, as the data can come from multiple locations across the globe, decreasing response time and increasing customer satisfaction. Additional new features for CMS 6.3 include load distribution, redundancy and scalability.
