PHP Development Kit Added to Amazon Web Services

Sep 30, 2010

Amazon Web Services (AWS) today released a PHP development toolkit which makes it easier for developers to create applications that will run on Amazon’s cloud platform. By using the AWS SDK for PHP, developers can utilize Amazon’s Simple Storage Service Elastic Compute Cloud (EC2), and SimpleDB database.

The AWS SDK for PHP is based on Amazon’s CloudFusion toolkit, and features a library of APIs, code samples and documentation, and is designed to simplify the development process by giving developers a “tailored development experience”.

Amazon is also providing developers with a guide which explains how to migrate from CloudFusion 2.5 to AWS SDK for PHP. The company’s cloud has web service APIs which can be used with different programming languages, including Java and Microsoft’s .NET as well.
