This week appMobi announced the release of appMobi PhoneGap Mobile App XDK, an integrated development environment (IDE) used for the creation of HTML5 and PhoneGap apps for mobile devices. The PhoneGap XDK supports the use of development tools such as DreamWeaver 5.5 and NotePad++, and does not require the use of a proprietary editor.
PhoneGap will soon be called Apache CallBack as a result of its acceptance into the Apache Software Foundation and Adobe’s recent acquisition of Nitobi. The PhoneGap XDK was created to enable the testing and emulation of apps created using PhoneGap, and allows developers to see how their apps function on the iOS or Android operating system.
appMobi’s frameworks are free for developers to download and use, and the company offers commercial cloud services which enable in-app sales, push notifications, live updating and analytics.
