Visa Incorporated this week announced the launch of a new Visa Developer Center designed to provide application developers with a way to easily access the tools they need to quickly create and deploy approved payment applications. They created the Visa Developer Center with the goal of making it easier and faster to create and adopt innovative payment apps across a global market.
By using the resources at the Visa Development Center, developers can create apps which allow users to buy smaller “in-game” digital products, right up to apps that would be sold by larger “big-box” retailers, or even apps which allow purchases using the new Visa digital wallet.
Visa’s global head of product, Jim McCarthy, discussed the announcement, stating that “The convergence of web, mobile, and social networks is revolutionizing the way people buy and sell and is driving the creation of new and innovative ways to pay. The Visa Developer Center ensures that application developers, especially those constructing eCommerce, mobile, and social applications, have access to Visa capabilities, while still maintaining Visa’s industry-leading security standards.”
