New Pandora Radio Redesign Uses HTML5, Not Flash

Although Adobe is just released its Flash Player 11 this week, another company, Pandora Radio, has decided to work with HTML5 instead. The online music radio company updated its website, giving it a new user interface that uses HTML5.

From the user’s point of view, the new Pandora Radio website works and functions much the same as it did when it relied on Adobe Flash. A user can type in the name of a music group, and is presented with a “radio station” that plays music based on the user’s selection. The interface is similar to the iTunes interface, and users can create playlists they can save and access later.

Also updated was the listening limit of 40 hours for non-premium users, which has been lifted, and the site now includes integration with Facebook, allows Pandora to make suggestions based on artists that are listed on a user’s Facebook page or are linked to as friend on the social networking network.
