Panasonic and Mozilla announced a partnership that has Panasonic deploying a Firefox OS on their next release of smart TVs. Mozilla has teamed up with Panasonic to development the framework of the next generation of TV-based apps. HTML5 is shaping up nicely as the language of choice for the TV OS of the future. Mozilla last year released their new FireFox OS for mobile devices whos apps are based on HTML5 and JavaScript. The new partnership calls for Panasonic to deliver TV’s whos functionality is written in HTML5 as well as providing developers with access to the TV’s hardware using WebAPI. Read the full story here.
