Although mobile security is already a serious topic for developers, Google chimed in today after discovering over 60 apps that contained malicious software which affected devices running Android 2.2.2 and earlier.
After removing the apps, Google stated that they plan to incorporate additional security measures in their app market. Security precautions include isolating “activities” and reiterating that developers need to review the security and permissions section of their developer website before publishing their apps.
Additonal details on new security measures by Google are not known at this time, but they will continue to use their remote application wipe feature to fix any devices which were harmed through this latest malware attack.
