Microsoft has launched a new version of its Windows operating system. Dubbed Windows S, the new OS is targeted at the education market and will only run apps available through the Windows Store. Industry watchers are describing it as a challenger to Google’s Chrome OS.
Interestingly, Microsoft plans to restrict users to the Edge browser and the Bing search engine. While users may be able to download another browser from the Windows Store, Edge will remain the default. Time will tell if this will have an impact on the browser’s overall market share.
