MDN Web Docs to Become Single Source for Cross-Browser Development Documentation

Google, Microsoft and Mozilla have agreed to use Mozilla’s MDN Web Docs as the single repository for cross-browser Web development documentation. In addition, representatives from Mozilla, Google, the Worldwide Web Consortium (W3C) and Samsung will sit on a new Product Advisory Board aimed at keeping MDN browser-agnostic.

MDN Web Docs provides information about Web APIs, JavaScript, CSS and HTML. Its goal is to become the “most comprehensive, complete, and trusted reference documenting the most important aspects of modern browsers and web standards.”

Notably missing from the new partnership is Apple, whose Safari browser is very popular with Apple device users.
