Many Businesses Fail to Think of SEO for Cyber Monday

Nov 18, 2011

As Cyber Monday rapidly approaches, many online businesses have been preparing their websites for what can be, for many, the busiest single day of the year. Although they have been actively working on their websites, many of these online retailers fail to take SEO into consideration as part of their preparations.

If your online business usually offers holiday deals, incentives or specials over the next month, schedule your social media messages before the time comes. Create variations of your messages for various times of the day so they can be seen by more people. Also, if you really want to stand out, don’t target keywords that are too broad–narrow your target by using long-tail keywords instead.

Create a reason for visitors to your site to make a purchase immediately by using call-to-actions. If you give them a deal where they get free shipping, guaranteed delivery by a certain date, or other such incentives, find places within the checkout process to give them the opportunity to take advantage of such deals.
