A recent poll on i-Programmer shows that while JavaScript certainly has its detractors, over 35% believe it to be a great programming language, versus 28% who believe it to be a “terrible” language. While this is a narrow win for the scripting language, if you take into consideration that another 16% see it to be the “web language of the future” it’s still a solid victory.
There are certainly some who see JavaScript as a monster that must be tamed, however the clear majority see it as a tool of the future as well as the “here and now”.
