Giphy Launches Sticker Tool for Websites

Sep 28, 2017

Giphy has launched a new tool called Sticker Embed that lets users put stickers on websites. Here’s how it works: Web developers add the Sticker Embed JavaScript plugin to a website. They can use the premade stickers or create some of their own. Website visitors see a little Giphy control at the bottom of the screen that lets them place or move resizable stickers on the screen.

The company says the stickers could make websites more, well, sticky, because users will have fun playing with the stickers, taking screenshots and sharing them with their friends. That could mean higher engagement stats and possibly some viral advertising for websites that enable the stickers.
